| Modder-ator | I don't think it is worth it. That mod only opens up more voltage options, which can kill your brand new chip faster than anything else. You are only on air cooling, so I would highly recommend against extreme voltages (more than about 10% - 12% above stock). |

| if i shift to a liquid cooling, would it be worth it if i can chop the temp down... then increase the preformance... i'm really pissed off not being able to increase everything up... | Modder-ator | I don't know what you are so upset about. You have a great processor there, faster than probably 89% of the desktops in the world! As to a liquid cooling system, the benefits are arguable, so I'll let the people who have dabbled in both share their experiences... According to your signature, it looks like you are up to about 50șC, which is the maximum temperature I feel comfortable with. Anything over that and I am going to change something. So you are on the borderline, in my opinion. On one hand better cooling may let you achieve higher clocks, but on the other hand, you never know if your chip even has much more speed left in it. You could spend hundreds of dollars on a nice liquid cooling system and find you can only get another 100mhz out of your system. Then you start asking the question, "Is it really worth it?" |
