| Modder-ator | Ok, back up a second here... First off, can you just make a signature listing the components of the system you are trying to put together with the Asus M2NPV-VM please? Second, what is the pattern of the beep code? Is it like one looooong beep, then a pause, then another looooong beep over and over or is it something else? Do your fans spin up? can you open the optical drive tray? Lastly, double check all of your connections and make sure all power cables are connected to the correct spot on the motherboard, video card (if applicable), and hard drives. |

| Not absolutely positive I know what you're saying, so please forgive me if I get it wrong. Your computer is assembled, but when you turn it on (power it up), and have the ASUS driver CD that came with the motherboard in the CD-ROM drive, nothing happens? A couple things first. In order for the ASUS driver CD to work, you'll need to have already installed an operating system (Windows XP et al). If you already have the OS installed, and the CD won't do anything, the autorun for that drive may not be enabled. To access the CD, got to Start > My Computer then located your CD-ROM drive in the applet window that opens, (right-click) and select "Open" on that drive. Then look for a file or icon for launch/start/install/run etc, double-click that file to launch the ASUS driver CD. If your problem is with the hardware, double-check all of your data and power connections to all devices; starting with the motherboard connections and working your way to the hard & optical drives ensuring all are actually connected, and secure (I've missed so many obvious things before...). The more information you can post about what you've already done and your system specs the better. | Colonel Calamity | sounds like it may be trying to boot from the wrong hard drive, may need to go into the bios and change the boot drive from hdd-0 to hdd-1 or vice-versa ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

| Colonel Calamity | turn the PC off. Then turn it back on and right away start pressing the "Del" or "Delete" button several times. It is possible that the monitor was hooked back up to the wrong video connector or not pushed in all the way. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | Well, it's not that, it's that I can't see anything.. What I was wondering.. if your HDD has no OS on it, can you download it right away onto your computer? | Repeated single beeps. Memory error. Reseat your ram modules and it should be alright. BiosCentral - Award BIOS Beep Codes Opteron 64 165--1.5GB DDR--ECS KA1 MVP(thanks HL!)--x1800GTO 256MB--Seagate 320GB SATA--Antec 550 Watt--Antec P180 |

| Modder-ator | It sounds like your system is failing to POST (Power On Self Test). Double check your memory and video cards are installed correctly. If yes, then try removing the heatsink and processor and reinstalling it very carefully. |
