Default To hell with Nvidia motherboards

I was running a Q6600 and Corsair Dominator 8500C5D 2Gb kit. The Q6600 was at 2.8GHz and 1.375V and the ram was at 5-5-5-18, 2.1V and 900+ MHz, well below it's 1066 rating.

Now, this f'ing board won't clear CMOS, removing and leaving the battery out for two hours did nothing, clearing the jumper does nothing. Now trying with just one HDD, CPU, Video card and a single stick of Corsair DDR2-800 1.9V ram with ram in the furthest slot from the CPU fails to do anything either.

Ran fine for 12 hours. Shut it down to do a Windows update and poof. Just won't boot past C1, which is a memory error. I got my 680i working well enough, but it was always finicky about running with a Quad core. Dual cores were awesome, but Quad's always took some extra work. I wait since 17 DEC 07 to get this friggin board and then, it dies 12 hours after being started up.

Screw Nvidia boards. I'm going to RMA this POS, sell the new board out right and buy me a friggin Intel board. Tired of dealing with this shit. I just need the shit to friggin work damnit.

That totally sucks dude. There's nothing worse than having your prized new hardware take a dump on you right away.

The current Intel chipsets have a better reputation for reliability, so hopefully once you get one of those setup you won't have to worry about it anymore.

I cannot even begin to express my frustration. I'm so fucking pissed off at this point, it's absolutely worthless for me to even try and comment on this.

poor quakin, i'd offer to buy it, but i can't actually justify buying a new board since my 650i has no issues. And with your experience with quad, i may not want to =P

Bah! Another NVIDIA chipset horror story. Unfortunately, you now know first hand what some of us have been warning about - you're defintely not alone in experiencing general flakiness and dieing hardware, though I'm surprised it happened so quickly in your case. :/

Dang, that sucks Tom... You'll have much better experiences on an Intel board, trust me. Going from my 650i-based Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus to my P35-based Blood Iron was just bliss.
