That should be an ok s939 board, but not for $139!!! I have a Gigabyte AM2 motherboard based on the nearly the same chipset (only the nForce 430 MCP instead of the 410 on the Biostar board) and it seems to work just fine. So unless that is the price in some other currency than American Dollars, do not buy it from Tiger Direct! You can get the same board from Newegg for only $66.12 shipped to your door...

But with a little more looking, the Foxconn 6150K8MA-8EKRS has a better onboard GPU (GeForce 6150) and better southbridge (nForce 430) for the same price as the Biostar board on Newegg; and the Foxconn even has a $10 mail-in-rebate, so it is actually cheaper if you do those!

HAHA, didn't even notice that!
I've built a s939 system for a friend on a mATX Biostar board and it seemed to work just fine, so I have no complaints so far about Biostar.

939 is dead so its hard to recommend a good cheap one, but if you don't mind buying the 2 separate then (this will hardly affect the price btw):

Newegg.com - ECS KN1 SLI Lite (1.0A) Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

Newegg.com - AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Toledo 2.0GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor - OEM

$168.99. Choice is up to you, I just recommend going against Biostar, but blake knows more than me and he doesn't mind them

Good call there Panda Man. You can get great deals on s939 processors now, so buying the motherboard and CPU separate isn't really an issue.

HAHA, I don't claim to know more than the next guy, I was simply giving you my opinion and experience with the only Biostar board I've built a system with so take it as you want... :wavey:

So when did 939 die? I take it AM2 is the replacement.

I would rather read a NewEgg review than a [H] review

Months ago, where you been man? AMD switched to AM2 in order to support DDR2.
