| evga 680i a1 ... although dq6 p35 is new, the 680i beats them in benchmarks... but its really just a personal taste coz benchmarks dont make much of realworld difference... but i'm using a 608i board... | In terms of overclocking, the 680I does not overclock as well as the P35 with a q6600. I have the P35 DS3R which is basically just a DQ6 without some of the deluxe features. I was able to bring it to 3 GHZ no problem at all. ![]() I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220 | ||||||||||||||

| It'll work just fine. Remember that the 32 bit versions of windows will only see about 3.5 gb of memory. The 64 bit versions of windows and Linux will see all 8 gb of memory, though they are capible of see upto 128gb of memory, the bottneck is the mobo's can't adress that much memory yet....unless your using some of the extreme server boards. | The Final Word
| The Gigabyte P35-DQ6 is an outstanding board, and to be honest, its a tossup between it and the eVGA 680i, with the 680i winning if you plan on using SLI. The overclocking experience with both is very good, the eVGA allows for using your memory in an "Unlkiinked" mode, but I've actually had a better all around overclocking experience withthe P35-DQ6, which I'm testing this weekend. The X38 will be a slight step up from the P35-DQ6, which is why Gigabyte will be dropping the DQ6 from their lineup when they release the X38, so as to not compete with themselves.....this is because the DQ6 is a much better board than most manufacturers P35 offerings. | I won't recommend ASUS, their boards are overpriced and their customer service sucks ass. Go with the eVGA if anything........ INTEL QX9650 ASUS Maximus Extreme 4GB DDR3-1600 Sapphire HD 3870X2 Danger Den Torture Rack (Custom W/C) Seagate 750GB HDD BFG ES 800W PSU | ||||||||||||||
