Default Gigabyte DES X48T-DQ6 Motherboard Review

Established in 1986 as a research and development company, Gigabyte employs 8500 people around the world, and over the last 22 years has morphed into a company that makes motherboards and graphics processors. To reach a wider audience Gigabyte expanded their product line to include notebook desktop PC’s, digital home appliances, network servers, communications, mobile handheld devices, and even power supplies. This expansion ensures that Gigabyte is integrated into every facet of digital life at the home front and the workplace. With so much going on, its no wonder that Gigabyte claims that they have motherboards in 1 out of every 10 PC’s in the world.

great review! looks like they are finally starting to listen by moving the SATA ports out of the way of the longer video cards

Looks like a great addition to the gigabyte family!

I would rather read a NewEgg review than a [H] review

I like the features of this board, and could easily overcome the memory issues when overclocking, but that color scheme is horrendous!

it's just a good reason to get more ram to fill up all the slots. It's a mad plot, I say!

On that same note though, very nice looking mobo (color scheme aside), but man... they need to put the cmos jumping in a better spot. That spot's better than it is on my p965 board... but it's still doesn't look as nifty as on my abit board, or any board with a reset cmos button on the back plane.

Thanks for the reveiw!

I wish all boards would implement the button system for resetting the CMOS - just hit an easy to reach button, and you're golden.

As a consolation, it's rare to have to actually clear the CMOS. This board loves to enter a reboot cycle back to conservative default settings if you input a setting that doesn't jive.
