Default ECS G33T-M2 Motherboard Review

While most people who read motherboard reviews focus their attention on high end enthusiast boards meant to push every component to the very edge, the truth is theres a large segment of our society who don't need $300 motherboards, $600 video cards, or $2500 systems. For these people, a simple computer for browsing the internet, sending email, reading news, and maybe watching a DVD is more than enough.

What?! Heresy!

Thats looking to be a really nice board, lots of features, great room to expand, not overburdened by junk you don't need, inexpensive...exactly what I look for when building systems for clients. And I like the minimalistic approach, I've got about 5 of those Nero discs laying around here as various coasters and hamster toys. An extra SATA or IDE would be nice though.

WOW, what happened to ECS being the king of bundled accessories?!
I suppose this is a budget oriented board, so it can be forgiven, but DANG, they are cutting every corner they can! And only 2.0V for the memory, no DVI or TV-out; this board better be about $50...

Nope, expect it to be somewhere around $100...which isn't bad.

the performance was good, setup was simple.....and keep in mind that people buying this board aren't going to be slapping a high end OCZ or corsair kit in it...most likely a Value kit.....which makes the voltage options really a non-issue.....my biggest problem with the G33T-M2 is the bundle, to me its inexcusable to include a single SATA cable.....they don't even give you enough to actually use the product as there is no IDE port, which means you'lll need to buy an addition SATA cable to use a HDD and Optical Drive at the same time....unless you use a USB drive.

As to ECS as a company, I'll be posting a review of their P35T-A motherboard......honestly a board that doesn't make a lot of sense to me, and leaves me scratching my head as to the direction ECS is taking with their products (I'll explain in my review).
