| Looking for some info on the manual for the motherboard of this machine. Have searched HP support and found very little on it. Searched MSI.com, they made the MOBO but say product not found. Forum at HP gave me some options but nothing came of them either. So if anyone has any answers to this or other ways of finding info please lets hear from all. Have searched by the Bios string also with no luck either. Marking on MOBO is "MS-7254", without taking MOBO out of unit to see what the serial #'s are almost impossible to get info. Thanks before hand. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Modder-ator | Have you visited this page to check on manuals? Usually those "out of the box" machines have very limited information on the intricacies of the hardware (like the motherboard). I guess they figure if you have a problem you will just need to contact their customer support. What specific information are you looking for? |

| Yes I've checked out thhe support page and DLed the PDF's from there. But am still looking for the complete manual that usually comes with the MOBO's. HP support only gives me the usual BS and pointed me to the same page as you did and then gave me the line about Warranty still being in effect and no need to have the manuals. Have always been able to get with all the other machines I've owned with no problem at all. Seems like HP and MSI are really trying to keep this one under wraps for some reason. Well will keep trying to find it and if neccesary will pull MOBO out of unit to check the serial #'s on the back side and see where that leads me. |

| Silence..Or I kill you! | Its very odd that nothing can be really found about this motherboard!!! I have run the MS 7254 all over the place, even called a system rep that I know in Denver and he has not been able to find anything!!! Are you sure that them numbers are the correct ones? |

| Modder-ator | Pulling out the serial number probably won't really help much. The brand and model are definately what you need (and it sounds like you are confident that is what you have found). My guess is that there really is no "public" or easily accessable documentation on the motherboard. It is probably something very specific that is made only for HP to use in that particular machine and it wasn't worth their time/money to write up a full user manual for it. Again though, what specific information are you trying to find on this board? |

| Am very sure that the #'s are the right ones for the MOBO. Just looking for where all the jumpers are and how to set them for different configurations, such as clearing CMOS. Have always had a hard copy of info on all the machines I have owned don't want this one to be an exception. |

| There actually is a way to get the manual. I have compaq's, and have gotten manuals for 2 lappy's. Have a dentist appt, but if you're interested, pm me. When I get back i will look in my old emails for the URL to get the manual. All I had to do was change the model # on the url for the other lappy. This may also work for you. |

| I noticed this machine in a promo from TigerDirect a few days back. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...433&CatId=1875 Seems like a reasonable basic machine for business use at a decent price. But even TigerDirect is begging for a manual, as they don't have one to provide to their customers. Limited return privileges for factory repair/replacement only. hmmm. Another case of the big boys believing they know best, or just trying to capture/keep their proprietary position. Maybe they think anyone who would buy this machine will have no sense or ability to do things for themselves. Best Regards, Doug |

| Functional Alcoholic | Have you tried Emailing or Calling Compaq? I know they don't have the best Customer Service, but it's worth a shot. FYI when calling companies it's best to say your a PC tech, and your calling about a customers machine. Then they don't treat you like a dumbass. |

| T-Rex | Or for anyone with a pair of hawk eyes http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowIm...Pro+%2D+Retail But yeah, calling Compaq seems like the best idea, unless Blondie can find that link. :) |
