does DFI Ultra-D come with 5.1 audio?

just curious, cuz i want a better sound system and if i have to, i'll buy a soundcard but if it already comes with my mobo, i'd like to know.

The DFI LanParty NF4 series boards actually have some of the nicest onboard sound solutions available. If you check the product specifications you will see that it features the "Karajan" 7.1/8 channel audio module. I would give it a shot and see how you like the onboard sound before you spend money on a seperate sound card.

I'm curious though, your signature says you have this board but you have never used the onboard sound or any sound card? How do you get your audio?! :?

i know there is onboard sound, i was just wondering if it was compatible w/ speaker system that is 5.1 or 7.1. I didn't know the karajan was 7.1.

Yes, you can use any computer speaker configuration up to a 7.1 system :thup:

Just about every motherboard these days comes with 5.1 audio. There are still a few S478 boards out there that don't have it and some Socket As, but no one uses those anymore.

All nForce4 (and nForce5) and LGA775 motherboards have a minimum of 5.1 audio.
