Default DFI Ultra-d to Ultra SLI

When your removing the northbridge cooler, how to do you remove the white screw things? and if i have to destroy them, what else can i use to put them back on?



E2140 @ 375 x 8 = 3.0ghz

They aren't screws......push the tops down and on the bottom pinch the ends together....they should then slip back through the motherboard....be careful not to let them go as the spring will shoot across the room.
If you are going to do the pencil mod, be very careful with the lead......its an easy mod, but if you rush or do it wrong you can ruin your board

roger. How do i clean the thermal pad off my heat sink?

Arcti Clean or some 91% or 99% isopropyl rubbing alcohol and Q-tips and paper towel. A lint free cloth is most desireable though.

you might want to sand it down a bit too. i found the heatsink on the chipset to be a good one, but not very flat.....lap it lightly and you might see some better temps out of the chipset.

Good idea. You don't need to spend much time on it. Start with around 300 or 500 grit. Use it for a few minutes then move up to 700 or 800. Thats about all you need for the chipset cooler.

i only have 70% isopropyl!!?!?!?

one more thing... how do i know if there is epoxy on the two metal squares or not?

Coffee filters work wonderfull, they are lint free.
I use Arti Clean and coffee filters.
