| I'm Evil | They aren't screws......push the tops down and on the bottom pinch the ends together....they should then slip back through the motherboard....be careful not to let them go as the spring will shoot across the room. If you are going to do the pencil mod, be very careful with the lead......its an easy mod, but if you rush or do it wrong you can ruin your board INTEL QX9650 ASUS P5E3 Premium 4GB DDR3-1600 Sapphire HD 3870X2 Danger Den Tower-26 (Custom W/C) 5 x Seagate 250GB HDD in RAID5 BFG ES 800W PSU |

| I'm Evil | you might want to sand it down a bit too. i found the heatsink on the chipset to be a good one, but not very flat.....lap it lightly and you might see some better temps out of the chipset. | Good idea. You don't need to spend much time on it. Start with around 300 or 500 grit. Use it for a few minutes then move up to 700 or 800. Thats about all you need for the chipset cooler. Refer to Blakes Lapping guide for more info. ![]() I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220 |
