Default The DFI LANParty NF4 SLI-DR EXPERT EDITION

We've posted our review of the DFI LANParty NF4 SLI-DR EXPERT EDITION. Check it out here

Quote:
While many are anxiously awaiting dual x16 PCI-E boards to hit the market en masse, DFI took arguably the best socket 939 motherboard on the market and made it even better. I have absolutely no reservations recommmending the DFI LANParty NF4 SLI-DR EXPERT EDITION to those who want the very best board money can buy. If you already own the SLI-DR, there is no real sense in upgrading, but if you are in the market for a socket 939 NF4 SLI board, the DFI LANParty NF4 SLI-DR EXPERT EDITION should be at the top of your list.

That is one amazing board indeed! I always love to see companies show thier true colors and take the initiative to redesign an already great board in order to make it that much better to suit an even wider range of enthusiast customers. Way to go DFI! :D

I particularly enjoyed your BIOS setting section as it was full of great tips. And it was also nice to see your varying overclocking success on this board, even with a more "stubborn" processor

Overall, a very informative and in-depth review. Nice Job

Sorry to hear that man. Before the FX-60, the X2 4800 (in my mind) was the best processor available.

Rich, very nice review....!

You should add a note that TCCD users MUST use drive strenght settings to get their high OC's!

I know you couldn't mention it in the review, but any users of the Expert should be very carefull using low CPU VID and high CPU VID Special....(google is your friend )

Also did you steal my idea??? LOL :)

I'm going to be replacing my Ultra-D with an Expert. I already have the board, I just need to find the time to switch things over and start testing.

It may sound unnecessary crazy, but I abandoned the Ultra-D because of the poor chipset placement. With the expert I can use the Swiftech chipset HSF. I'm also hoping for some performance gains with the Expert. My Opty is starting to act strangely and although I'm not sure what's causing it, I want to have a different mobo to compare results. I'll definitely post back once I get things rolling. :)

CPU: Opteron 170 @ 2.70GHz (270x10) Vcore=1.425V
Mobo: DFI Lanparty UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert
RAM: 2x 512 OCZ PC-4800 EL Elite CL2.5-4-4-10 2T (1:1)
Video: ATi Radeon X1900XT
PSU: FSP Group FX700-GLN 700W

Like the review states....when you are running it at stock speeds, you won't see any performance benefit....its when overclocking that you will.
I hate the chipset placement on the NF4s, until the Expert it was a big issue in my eyes.
One solution I did find was to water cool the board and use Koolance's chipset cooler on the NB, fits perfectly under the video card.

"Stock speeds?" What is this strange language you speak?
