Wow, that's the first green PCB board from DFI I think I've ever seen, even on an Infinity series! Still looks like a nice board though

I looked at it, and double checked to see if I was really looking at a DFI board.

Is that the best they could come up with? Oh boy! They're in for a rude awakening. DFI's have never impressed me one least bit and judging by that poor designed board I can tell you that the P5B-Deluxe and P5W-DH Deluxe will be the ONLY choice for a Conroe set-up.

What don't you like about the DFI?

DFI has made the best AMD based motherboards over the last two years....yes ASUS is very good....but the DFI Infinity and LANParty boards in my opinion are the very best you can get when it comes to overclocking.
This is an Infinity board, which means its their budget line....much like ASUS has ASROCK......lets wait to pass judgement until we see what it can do

gvblake22, what Don't I like about it? Well, for a starters it's not an ASUS which is the only MoBo to go with for an Intel system. The green PCB means cheap quality 6 layers, no 8 phase power design (at least), 4 SATA unlike the P5B-D and P5W-DH's 6, few beefy CAPs, position of 24-pin and 4(-8-)-Pin connectors, support for upto DDR2 667 and I also see a VIA chip controller there.

Compared to the P5WD2-E Premium and P5W-DH Deluxe that board is not even a considerable choice for anyone that will try to build a Conroe system.

Capper, DFI could be the best maker for amd boards but for Intel they're not and never will, I've had 1 board and support and BIOS updates were the worst in the business, I returned it and got a GIGABYTE instead and all problems were solved. That's why I don't like DFI nor I ever will.

This might be the "budget line" Infinity but in reality, ASUS doesn't have a budget line motherboard with a 975X chipset, in fact the least expensive 975X board is the AW8-D which is only $176 and I wouldn't call that exactly "budget board", but then again if that board's price ends up being less than that I wouldn't buy or recommend one either.

The top of the line boards from DFI for Intel have end up being way more expensive than the ASUS and the clear choice will always be an ASUS, just like the Lanparty 875P vs P4C800-Deluxe and 925X days.

Naturally, I too will wait until passing judgement, but I will say that any company (DFI or otherwise) has an uphill battle when it comes to taking on Asus on the Intel side of the fence, and I can't envision this Infinity doing it.

It's early though folks, I would expect to see some higher end offerings as that we approach and pass that magical late July release date...

Green does not mean cheap. It can, or it can mean a no frills-no thrills motherboard.

It has 6 phase, wich is more then enough for Conroe, you only need 3 phase for conroe...

I see your point

You don't need "beefy caps" If you notice the caps around the CPU socket are high quality all aluminum caps, the kind used on GPUs

I see your point there

Thats the firewire controller, and almost every motherboard in existance with firewire, uses that chip...
