Default DFI BLOOD IRON SHIPPED 3/3/08

For those of us who like and use DFI's BLOOD IRON and have recently found that it is not available, here is good news for you.
I called DFI customer service this morning, and was on hold for no more than 30sec. when an operator asked where she could direct me.I told her I wasnt sure, but my question was "are they going to be restocking the BLOOD IRON mobo"? She quickly gave me another # and ext. to call and told me the gentleman at that # and ext. would be happy to assist me with my questions on that product.
I called the # and entered the ext. when prompted, and was talking to a real person,in less than 20 sec. I asked him if they were discontinuing the BLOOD IRON mobo line, and his reaction was "no,no,no"! It will be air shipped by the end of the month and avilable in most retailers by the 3rd of March!!!
On a lighter note,it was nice to be treated human and not like a # on the phone, and not have to spend an hour there to get a simple answer.(and no blue light special music )

Found a couple at the local MicroCenter here in NY for 137.99. Was debating between picking this up or the Asus P5K they had for 135.99. Went with the asus due to the native 1066 DDR2 and SLI/Crossfire (not like im utilizing either) but haven't opened yet so was just wondering if this board's as great as everyone's been raving about. Oh and its onsale online too. I mainly went to microcenter lookin for the E8400 lol

I had contacted Micro before DFI and they did have a "few" on hand, but was told that if I placed an order,by the time they got to fill my order, they would be out of stock. So I got to thinking that maybe it would be better to wait, contact DFI,find out if a new shipment/updated/upgraded board, would be on the horizen.I would rather a board from the new shipment.....hoping it is an upgraded board, but if not,no probs...will be happy with it anyway.

Another thing was, it is quite possible that the last few boxes were those that were returns, dent ups, scratched, pilferred etc. I can wait for the newest shipment. Not saying thats what they would have been, but I would rather wait.

Because it's what I use!
Seriously though,I cant honestly and completely give you an answer to your question. It was a suggested board (among others) to use for my first build.Price ,functionality,overclock-ability and a P35 chipset are among some of the reasons and the fact that very few here have the board.Since it was 1 of the boards suggested, and the fact that very few had it,to me,makes it an "under dog".I love the "under dog" in anything I do.That's just who I am and the way I feel about life in general.Maybe it is an optimistic thing? I knew from reading posts and studying this forum and seeing how helpful and knowledgable everyone was, that I would not get pushed in a bad direction. I have looked thru other forums and found bad reports about the board. Seems to me that is the norm for every item out there. There's always going to be someone who didnt like it.Well enough rant.I like the red PCB and boot screen has bullets on it and blood

I have 2 red boards in my possession now, M7VIG (Biostar) and KT4V (MSI) which are both SocketA boards. I do like alternative color boards but it really does not attribute anything to performance...
