I received my eVGA 680i SLI board last night. Since today is my sons birthday, I've been busy with Daddy duties and haven't put it together yet. I wonder if all the hype surrounding the Bad Axe justifies the price over this eVGA mobo?

Intel has actually been making useful boards now. But it's hard to turn down SLI!

- Core 2 Quad Q6600
- DFI Infinity 975X
- 4GB Corsair XMS2 w/ DHX DDR2-800
- 250GB Seagate 7200.10RPM + 160GB Hitachi 5400.4RPM
- ATi Radeon X1900XT 256MB
- Cooler Master Centurion 5 + OCZ StealthXStream 600W
- Acer 19" P191W Monitor
- Logitech Z-5500 Digital + Logitech MX Revolution
- Vista Ultimate x64

INTEL has actually always made good boards.....maybe not top overclockers, but extremely stable and feature rich boards.

INTEL QX9650 // Gigabyte EP45 Extreme // 8GB PC2-8500 // BFG GTX260 MaxCore // DD Torture Rack // Seagate 750GB HDD // OCZ Vendetta // PC Power & Cooling 620W PSU

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

Yes indeed - Intel has always been THE go-to manufacturer when stability is a prime objective.

Performance aside, I can't stop noticing how pretty it is. I love the blue.

HAHA, not it's not! Seriously though, personally, I just don't get off on the whole dual graphics thing (be it SLI or CrossFire). Too much money and heat for not enough gain under *typical* gaming conditions.

I think I agree with Capper and One4, though I've never owned an intel board, I've never heard anyone complain about theirs. The only downside that I see is that they tend to charge an arm and a leg for their high end boards (like the 975x).

I don't think I have ever bought an Intel board... may have received one with parts but none bought.

I also agree, single video card solutions work fine for me, I am typically a year behind the gaming community anyways

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Yeah, unless I win the lottery or something, I'd never go SLI either. Just threw it out there.

And yes, I know Intel makes good, cheap, and reliable boards, but they weren't "the board" for O/C.
