| Well if you're not going to OC, all three boards should be extremely stable, and depending on the features you're looking for, will probably be overkill. P5K-E wifi/ E8400 @ 4.0 / Scythe Ninja Copper / 2GB Hyper-X DDR2-800 / 7800GT / Antec 1200 / Corsair HX-520 P5W DH Deluxe wifi/ E7200 @ 4.0 / 2GB Ballistix DDR2-800 / 7600GT (passive) / P180B / Seasonic SS-550HT / Zalman Reserator V2 Optiplex 755 / E2180 / 4GB DDR2 / 160GB HD / ATI HD 2400 Dual-ISP Network aim: drewandnotu | Skype: drew-and-not-u ![]() |

| I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal. | Most chipsets (not all) these days don't have real problems with stability, especially when overclocking is taken out of the equation (or in this case, just some light OCing). That being said, when stability is the name the game, Intel branded boards should be at the top of your list. Their forte is churning out rock solid chipsets. |

| I'm Evil | Yep....take a gander at an INTEL 965P board, ASUS P5B Deluxe, Gigabyte 965P-DS3, or DQ6.....all three feature packed and damn good boards.....especially considering the use you describe. INTEL QX9650 ASUS P5E3 Premium 4GB DDR3-1600 Sapphire HD 3870X2 Danger Den Tower-26 (Custom W/C) 5 x Seagate 250GB HDD in RAID5 BFG ES 800W PSU |

| Colonel Calamity | depends on your use. I say go with the Asus P5W DH. It has wireless capability, excellent heatsinks on the chipsets and driverless RAID setup. If you want SLI then go with a board with the nvidia 570 chipset (temporarily) or wait a short time for the 680i chipset due out anyday now. Now if you will be using a single card solution, go for the X1950 Pro and get 2fps lower performance for half the price of the 7950GT. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

| I'm Evil | If you aren't going to OC, and are simply looking for features....why would you go for ASUS' most expensive desktop board? The Asus P5W DH is a great board, but for $50 less you can get the ASUS P5B Deluxw, which is also wireless and has an updated chipset....or for $85 less you can get the Gigabyte 965P-DS3, which we've already reviewed. As to the video card, whatever the difference in FPS (after a certain point, usually around 60 FPS) your brain isn't going to see a difference.....ATI's AVIVO definitely makes up for any difference....the video quality is just so much better than Pure Video. | We have a few cooling reviews for the C2D platform. Check the review on the TT Big Typhoon http://hardwarelogic.com/news/62/ART...006-09-29.html or the Zalman CNPS 9500 http://hardwarelogic.com/news/62/ART...006-10-19.html or the Ultra 120 http://hardwarelogic.com/news/62/ART...006-08-21.html All 3 are excellent coolers. You may have an easier time mounting the Zalman CNPS 9500 though. Good choice on the DS3. Although it does not have dual videocard capabilities, its a very good mobo and overclocks well. The x1950pro should suit your needs just fine.
