Default ASUS P5K Motherboard

Canada Computers - Video Cards > PCI-Express Cards > Powered By nVidia : Asus P5K Socket 775 Intel P35 ICH9 Chipset Dual-Channel DDR2 1066/800/667Mhz eSATA/SATA 3.0Gb/s Firewire 12x USB 2.0.

Seems to me like the next best thing. Like the P5B optimized for QUADS - or the GByte DS3 even!

Specs look pretty presentable for my taste...

The new 1333fsb chipset boards are available now but the next gen procs won't be out for a little while.
From the reviews at Anandtech there is nothing real special about them in their current form, they are basically a P965 chipset with 1333fsb (and DDR3) capabilities. Many of the current boards today (including the DS3 and DQ6) will support 1333fsb procs with a bios update while still using DDR2. My DS3 mobo box says 1333MHz fsb compatible.
I am curious what nvidia will pull out of their hass to compete with these nextgen boards.

edit: saw a new story about low latency Kingston DDR3... then they had this in the story:

Quote:
Kingston has set the following MSRP for the new DDR3 low-latency kits:

2GB (2 x 1GB) kit $518
1GB (2 x 512MB) kit $256
Single 1GB DIMM $268
Single 512MB DIMM $134

This HyperX DDR3-1375 7-7-7 memory is Kingston's top-of-the-line product, but Kingston will also be launching DDR3 Value RAM.
This means Newegg should have the 2GB kits around $450 to start

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Looks to be a pretty good board, but I hate the color of the PCB!!

Haha yea I know! The black PCBs look so awesome. Especially in a windowed case. If you don't have one it doesn't really matter, though.

The one with support for DDR3\DDR2 looks to be the bomb'

45nm support with the ability to use DDR2 while prices on DDR3 come down a bit.

WOW! I'D LOVE to shell out $518 for 7-7-7 low latency RAM! lol, I know that might be kind of low for DDR3 at that speed, but I mean come on, CAS7 just isn't low.
