I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

Default Asus Concept Motherboard (Pluto)...

Anandtech Wrote:

There's a few interesting features being showcased. DailyTech also has a short read on the subject ---> LINK

I like the looks of that backplate all lit up and it looks clean but other than that is there anything thats improved on the boards?

It's not so much looking for 'improvements' per se, rather the idea of a concept board, which I as well am surprised we haven't seen before.

Looking at the specific concepts, however, aside from the backlight, the riser approcah for onboard duties is somewhat interesting. On the AMD side of the fench, MSI is the only one with an onboard audio solution that I find halfway compelling (onboard Audigy). The riser route could potentially open the door to more competitive solutions, especially if they follow through with plans for an X-Fi version of the audio codec, as reported in the DailyTech link.

The POST diagnostic is a nifty concept too, assuming it could be refined, and the "water cooling element" may turn out to be interesting.

Really though, it's the idea of the concept board itself that's of most interest, to me anyway. It's nice to get a glimpse of what innovations these companies are working on.

I wonder how long before we see these improvements in the retail market. Good find on this One4yu2c.

Same here. I wasn't very enthused by the actual ideas that they were pitching, but I've never heard of a concept mobo either.
