Default The 780i is out!

And already sold out!

Newegg.com - EVGA 132-CK-NF78-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

What really shocked me was Newegg's price vs. ZZF's

Newegg has had the 780i for sale (XFX and EVGA) for the past two weeks... and they've consistently been sold out since. I'm not quite sure the 780i is ready for prime time for people to upgrade from the 680i chipsets. There just isn't enough oomph to justify that cost. That is, of course, disregarding EVGA's step-up 680i-780i program. ;)

It's basically 680i reworked to be compatible with Yorkfield and Tri-SLI right?

Yar, plus PCI 2.0 which theoretically doubles the bandwidth in the PCI-e slots.

It's not like it was the first time newegg jacked their prices...

That's about the ugliest NB/SB heat pipe setup I've seen. Oh, and there's no way in hell I'd give up my sound card just to have Tri-SLi (In favor of Realtek at that...)

Lol Sumgai

> In any case, on a good note, Newegg now has them in stock. Yeah, their price is still too high and a rip off, but if you're desperate (which you shouldn't be since 790i is coming out this month), then you can get it. Unless you can find it on ZZF or get it direct from eVGA for much cheaper.
