Exclamation Why no dual channel memory???

After running CPU-Z on my system I noticed on the memory page that in the Channels field it says "Single". However my motherboard (see system in sig) Says it supports dual channel memory. I currently have 1024MB of memory installed in the form of four 256MB modules. The first module being PC2700 (166 MHz) and the rest being PC2100 (133 MHz). I am wondering if I have to set something in the BIOS or If this combination of modules will not work in dual channel.

I don't know about anyone else, but i can't really read you sig.....it looks cool, but is extremely difficult to make out.

Its been awhile since I've tinkered with an AMD system, but I think you'll need to make sure that the Command Rate is set to 2T.

I agree on both. But my other concern is that you have different types of memory. Can memory run in dual channel if they aren't the same?

Most system boards won't run memory unless they are in matched sets.
Same speed, same command rate, same amount per stick. Some motherboards won't run in dual-channel mode if you occupy more than two of the RAM slots, and still others insist on having the same actual chips.

The kn8/an8 and the like motherboards, DO NOT LIKE MIXED RAM! You are lucky that thing even boots, kudos to gigabyte, my abit would have taken a dump on me with that many variables in my ram.

yeah, and regarding the text in your sig, it is just awfully blurry. If your up to the task, see if you can sharpen it up a tad. The "Death Blooms" text with the gray/silver middle is much more readable than what you have describing your rig. (It's just a suggestion, not a "Blake the sig nazi" type of demand, JK Blake).
