| Is it true that if you have too much RAM, there are certain games that won't work on your computer? I was surfing some forums and I came across this one member who couldn't run FarCry (or some other game, I don't remember). He had 4 gigs of RAM installed in his computer. When he removed two 1 gig sticks, the game worked perfectly. hmmmm, I don't see this works............ |

| Colonel Calamity | it is all dependent on the system and the game... very rarely is it due to TOO much memory... in his case it is likely that either 1 or 2 sticks of memory were bad or the memory slots themselves were on the verge of dying. Also theres the limitation of windows 32-bit that only recognizes 2-3.5GB of memory so it may be related to that... but in the case of a 64-bit system it is related to the memory itself likely being bad and that no other application puts it under as much strain as that games does. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

| now... if 64-bit has driver issues, how can we cound on 4GB of ram for Windows XP? i mean does the 64-bit version of windows support games just as regularly as the 32-bit version? and does it have the "main" drivers in line now? |
