Default It seems like my RAM is being under-utilized...

Having 3gb of RAM seems awesome, but somehow I get the feeling that that extra 1gb isn't being used at all.

Is there a way (i think I read something about it somehow, somewhere) to sort of install or pre-cache files onto the RAM (like, for example.... maps and models from Company of Heroes, so its a very rapid load time) so that they can be accessed instantly?
Or maybe make Windows boot faster via said method?

Also, if the above is possible, would there be a way to make it remain in the memory, so that it doesn't slow down my system being there?

Thanks for any help you have. :)

Lol, after a couple days of use I find this program to be pointless unless U have either
a) photoshop
or
b) some other small installation

Since what I originally wanted it to be was for games, and all of my games are at least 2gb, I see it unnecessary for me to keep this driver installed.

But I'll be damned if I never use this. I can guarantee you I will look on this thread in 2 years when I have 8gb of ram in my computer and be like
DAAAAAAAAANNNNNGGGGGGGG thats awesome.

'course by that time 8gbs for a game will be lame, and the average game will be 10gbs in size, lol

How big did you make the ramdisk? You could get away with a 1GB and use it for all sorts of other stuff like FF :D

Yeah, the RAM Disk is not really useful for big things, unless you have some monster server rig with 64 Gigs of ram. But for smaller things, its great!

Zambini, by the time we have 8GB of RAM standard, I think games will be around 20GB a piece. Most of the games I have now are between 5-8GB

I had it set to 1 GB but I didn't see any reason to migrate my firefox to it. It had an error when I installed delta force and it wanted to restart. So I just ininstalled the drivers. Maybe I could try photoshop in a bit

That's odd, every time I install FF, winamp, and stick other stuff on the disk it works flawlessly. Are you using the free version or did you "pay" for it?

No. I used the link from that walk through. I think it's because I didn't reboot it.
