Default S.T.A.L.K.E.R. detects wrong amount of memory

Click the image to open in full size.

Yet I clearly have 3gb.

Also, I was wondering why it says my timings are 5-5-5-12. Because on the SPD page, each stick-o-ram says 4-4-4-12.

I have one pair of these:
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
and one of these:
CORSAIR XMS2 1GB (2 x 512MB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory

The SPD settings aren't always properly interpreted by the Bios. If you want the 4-4-4 settings, go into your Bios and manually set them.

I have no idea why STALKER is detecting less memory like that.

I wouldn't have put it that way, but yes the game is quite buggy, this is probably just one of them. Since your memory is obviously not an issue, I would just ignore this. As for the timings, go with what q-dude said.

Overall, I dont like this game.
I see where they're going with it, I love the idea and the audio is excellent, people actually speak the language they're supposed to, except to you, who speaks English. And the music is good. Better than HL2 i might say.
But the gameplay itself is terrible.
I've died about 50 times from some guy appearing from nowhere and shotgunning my face off.
Not to mention the FPS perspective of it is worse than BF1942. And (that i know of) there is no "quicksave" or autosave, except when you finish a level, which is about 30-40 minutes of work.
I just finished a standoff (after the 13th time) with about 10-12 bandits, each armed with SMGs and sawd off shotguns, where I had 20 rounds of shotgun ammo, and a pistol with a 8 round mag that takes about 15 hits to kill someone

That's not a very good comparison, BF1942 is a great game XD

Well, everyone has their opinions. Just get better :P And wait for the AI to get patched up

No, I meant the slow responsiveness and the choppiness of '1942.

ps: I went into my bios and didnt find anything to manually configure my memory timings. =/
