| We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | OCZ is typically the best value, but you can't go wrong with Corsair, Crucial, Patriot, Super Talent, or Mushkin as well, but they will cost a bit more. Here are two really nice kits at a nice price. OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory OCZ Reaper HPC 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory INTEL QX9650 // Gigabyte EP45 Extreme // 8GB PC2-8500 // BFG GTX260 MaxCore // DD Torture Rack // Seagate 750GB HDD // OCZ Vendetta // PC Power & Cooling 620W PSU |

| OCZ is great. Also check out the Crucial Ballistix and Crucial Ballistix Tracers. The Tracers, in particular, are one sweet kit. edit: PC2-6400 is DDR2 800MHz, PC2-8500 is DDR2-1066. Typically a 1066 kit will offer more headroom when overclocking, though high-end 800MHz kits will sometimes be able to out-clock entry level 1066 kits. ![]() Last edited by drew and not u; June 3rd, 2008 at 12:34. |

| It will support it, but due to the nature of 32-bit addressing, it will only use a little more than 3GB. ![]() |

| no no, you definitely want a matched pair regardless of whether you use 2 or 4 GB, in order for them to run in dual-channel mode. With DDR2 prices what they are, and the performance that 4GB kits are achieving now, I'd say there is almost no reason to get a 2GB kit. ~3GB is still better than 2GB, and if you upgrade to a 64-bit OS like Vista 64 or Windows 7, when it's released, then you'll still be set. ![]() |
