| The Final Word
| I had to RMA the board on my test bench, which is why I hsven't posted my DDR3 reviews yet, but hopefully this next week I'll be posting reviews of this Kingston HyperX kit, a Crucial DDR3-1600 kit, an OCZ DDR3-1600 kit, and a Corsair DDR3-1800 kit. I've been able to tinker with these kits on an older P35 board, and I'll say that DDR3 is finally starting to hit its stride in the DDR3-1600 to DDR3-1800 range. | Monday I'll be posting my 25 thermal paste review......After switching out the thermal paste well over 100 times, the board decided it had had enough and quit on me. I switched out the cooler so many times it rubbed the stamp off the processors IHS as well. Before the board died, each kit ran between DDR3-1800 and DDR3-2000 with 100% stability. | They will, soon enough....there are two OCZ kits already down to $255, one of which I have on the bench now....which isn't bad. We're really just spoiled by the sub $100 DDR2 kits. There just so darn expensive right now! I'd rather spend $200 on an awesome motherboard with DDR2 than buy a set of DDR3... | ||||||||||||||||

| Hi guys, in mew to this forum but wanted to say that i have had a DDR3 Kit for about 4 months now. 2x1GB DDR3 1600mhz (original:1333) I find it blisteringly fast and love it Although it may cost more my main excuse for purchasing was to make my computer futurproof hence the P5E3 asus board not (N wireless version (below)). Has anyone else had good eperiance using DDR3 and do you think it will ever become mainstream as the stick are getting cheaper as we type. It would be good to hear what other think!! | ||||||||||||||

| Welcome to HL Thomtom!!!! I am currently testing/retesting 5 kits of DDR3 (Some were tested awhile back with a P35 board, some with an X38 that didn't OC memory very well).......and I'll say that the DDR3-1600 kits should finally get people excited about DDR3. The kits I have from Crucial, Kingston, and OCZ have proven to be excellent options for those making the switch.....especially the OCZ kit and its $250 price tag, INTEL QX9650 ASUS Maximus Extreme 4GB DDR3-1600 Sapphire HD 3870X2 Danger Den Torture Rack (Custom W/C) Seagate 750GB HDD BFG ES 800W PSU | ||||||||||||||
