Crucial 10th Anniversary 2GB DDR2-667 Memory Kit Review
__________________________________________________ ________

I usually reserve comments until after feedback has been posted, but I'll go ahead and say that this RAM absolutely blew me away. Here's hoping that off-the-shelf kits perform even half as good as the review sample...

I just have to compliment you. Your introductory paragraphs are always so funny to read and really grab the readers attention. Good job Paul.

HOLY CRAP! At first I felt a little cheated that they only bothered to make their "Anniversary" edition DDR2-667 and not the more desireable DDR2-800. But after seeing those overclocking results, I felt very different!

It seems to have taken a lot of voltage to get 3-3-3 stable at 800 MHz, but it took the least amount of voltage to obtain your highest overclock of 1120 MHz. 2.2v is less than stock!!! Is this correct?!
This stuff definately appears worthy of an Editor's Choice.

Stock voltage on these sticks is 2.2V, so it wasn't a big bump (2.4V) to run 3-3-3-8/1T @ DDR2-800. And really, the 32M Super Pi benchmark was the only bench that needed the additional juice. And for reference (regarding voltages), kits such as OCZ's DDR2-1100 and DDR2-1120 at rated for 2.4V, and warrantied up to 2.45V. Proceed with caution of course, but generally speaking, DDR2 kits handle extra juice in moderation fairly well.

OH, ok, I see. I was looking on the overclocking results page and just figured you listed stock speed and voltage (that 2.3v) first, but you actually did change the tRAS from 12 to 8 and I guess that required increasing the voltage a notch.

Paul I get a kick out of the photo's you come up with for the reviews. Those sticks of memory in the wine glasses are great. Everyone should have a little more memory with their alcohol consumption. By the way I noticed that the bottle was still sealed so I'll be over to help you consume it shortly.
