It might clock your new 800 RAM down to 677, but you could just overclock it up to 800.

E8400
DFI Blood Iron P35-T2RL
4GB G.Skill 800MHz
Sapphire Radeon HD3870 512MB
Silverstone DA650W
WD 250GB + Seagate 320GB

It will clock your RAM down to 667 if that's the max your board supports. But YH is very correct on the OCing part - you could always just bring it up if your board can handle the OC.

thanks guys. I just wasn't sure if the socket is the same. I will get the 2x1GB DDR800 and OC it back up

which RAM would you recommend?:

Newegg.com - CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

Newegg.com - OCZ Platinum Revision 2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

Newegg.com - Patriot Extreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

Newegg.com - Kingston HyperX 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

all 4 of them have the same 4-4-4-12 latency.

I say get These.
They are about the same price as the other ones but are better at OC'ing and are very stable.
With the MIR there a steal, or as Nate would say "there almost theft at that price"

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

Option 5:

Crucial Ballistix 2GB DDR2-800 - $50 shipped (after $25 MIR)

thank you guys. this crucial stick looks good but do you think it's worth the price difference? the crucial costs me $49.99 and the patriot is $26.99 after MIR. all the reviews are good for the patriot and it's the extreme performance series for gamers supposedly. don't mean to split hairs just wondering?

Oh shoot, I didn't see the rebate on the partiot.
Yes get the Patriot. Those are like second priority if your not getting crucial.
Great OCer's to I hear.
