I have no knowledge on the matter, anyone care to explain me what is this patch supposed to solve?

Edit: Oh you're talking about that Cool N Quiet issue right? Unless you use Cool N Quiet (which you shouldn't since you're overclocking) I don't think it's necessary to apply it.

a lot of people recommend against installing the patch.... I can't remember where, but even a motherboard maker's site recommended against installing it if you plan on overclocking

I allway's bench with the dualcore patch and not once have i seen a loss of overclock and were talking about the 3.6ghz range for a dualcore..not a small 2.8~3.1ghz range.

as you can see i hold the current world record for 4800+ clock speed done with the driver patch :)

I'd like to comment on this too. I installed this patch before I started my overclocking antics. As far as I can tell... it has not interefered with my overclock at all.

My X2 3800+ is currently clocked at 2.8 GHZ @ stock volts. Stock is 2 GHZ btw.

I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220
