Default What does this mean? Q6600 at $559.00

Newegg just updated their price for the Intel Q6600 Kentsfield quad core processor from $480.00 to $559.00 tonight... thought the prices for the C2D's were supposed to decrease with the upcoming Penryn processors, not increase. Very odd, very odd indeed.

What do you guys make of it?

Supply and demand........Although I looked at it yesterday and it was $559 then too.

There will be big price drop on July 22, I've seen $266 or so for the Q6600, but its up to the individual retailers as to what price they want to sell their products at.

Last time I looked it was $550+ also. As pointed out, the price cuts aren't coming until the end of next month. You can get a pricing breakdown HERE.

Very weird. I've been on the Newegg website all day today, and the price has been, and for the last week, at $480.00

LoL throw a quad core in there - now that would top it all off!

I'm getting the impression Newegg really wants to juice its customer base before the price cuts. Right now the Q6600 is selling for $659.

Unbeleivable. I honestly did not see this coming. Is this normal for prices to drastically rise before projected price cuts?

I wonder if it's going to be going up by the day until the official price cut.

It should be mentioned that pricing in general isn't rising, but Newegg's is. You can still pick one up for $478.90 shipped at ZipZoomFly, $485 shipped at mWave, $446.91 shipped at eWiz, etc.
