I'm still not quite sold on the whole quad core thing. I'd rather have an E8400 or E8500 running at a faster clock speed than the slower quad core for more money...

i'm not 100% on this since its not sitting in front of me, but if you can get your fsb to 500 then you will have a 4GHz quad core.

500 x 8 = 4GHz

I don't think boards will have a problem with getting the FSB up to 500, many boards do it right now without a hitch, I'm just wondering if the Q9450 will do it and at how many volts.

quads dont hit as high of an fsb as duals. you would be lucky indeed if you hit 475mhz fsb
