| I have a Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 processor, and when i monitor temperatures with speedfan, im getting temperatures of 45C, is that high? I use stock cooling, and arctic silver 5 thermal paste, should i try removing the heatsync and reapplying the thermal paste? |

| Your temperatures are within the safe range so I wouldn't worry. But you said you're using AS5. I'd imagine your temps would be lower than that. EDIT: By the way, Welcome to HardwareLogic. ![]() I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220 |

| You could try remounting it if you really want to get lower temperatures. Tip for you, Once the heatsink touches the processor and the thermal paste gets squished, you don't want to lift the heatsink up again or do anything to the heatsink that could disturb the paste. | We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | Welcome to HL, please post your system specs so we can help you out. Are you using the stock INTEL cooler? What type of case.....the combination of that poor stock cooler and bad air flow could easily account for the temperatures you are seeing INTEL E8400 // Gigabyte EP45 Extreme // 4GB DDR3-1600 // Palit HD 4870 // Antec 1200 // Seagate 750GB HDD // Zalman CNPS9700 // BFG ES 800W PSU Last edited by gvblake22; January 1st, 2007 at 15:06. |
