| bought new comp from a while back...really disappoionted bought all these and turned out that it can't even oc for sh*t (AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ socket AM2 windsor running in a ASUS M2N-E ATX AM2 nforce 570 mobo) can't even make it past 2.2 ghz on stock voltage. when i oc a little it doesn't boot up...i press reset and it resets everything back to defaults*boot fail error*...also i lose my internet when i overclocked the cpu which is really stressful. and i am using a scythe mine as my cpu cooler. the temp is good just, cpu being stupid on me...please help should i increase the V???i have no clue wat is wrong...it is such a poor overclocker. | hmm. 1. Have you set your HTT multiplier to 3x? You may also have something called HTT frequency. Change this to 800mhz. 2. On my s939 3800+ i use 1.4v for 2400mhz. Bump yours up a bit 3. Try running your memory on a divider. You should hit at least 2500mhz on a X2. You using fairly good parts as well. | definitely increase the vcore a little bit. Also, are you OCing the ram, or are you adjusting the multiplier only? If you are OCing the RAM as well, what series Corsair is it? If it's valueRAM you won't get much out of it. Aslo, make sure your PCI speed is locked. Other than that, bump up the vCore a little bit and see how you fair. | If you can't go any higher, even when you raise the vcore, put your memory on a divider. Word of advice, don't exceed 1.5v on the vcore. My chip is a particularly good one, I can get up to 3-3.2 ghz with water cooling or on a very cold day. My set my ram so that it runs at 200 mhz (using a divider). ![]() I Like Watercooling. | Modder-ator | What speed RAM are you using? Have you tried running your memory on a lower divider like was mentioned by the other posters? What about the memory timings, have you tried tweaking them? Are you sure your temperatures are staying within normal range (under 50 degrees C)? |

| I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal. | Without more information, my *guess* is that we're at an issue with the HTT link being too high (already pointed out), or RAM timings needing to be adjusted. Or a combination of the two. |

| It is value rams...well anyways me **** at oc but here is wat i c JUMPERFREE CONFIGURATION AI Tuning [Manual] <i swticthed to manual so i could oc x overcloking op disabled x N.O.S disabled CPU frequency 200.0 PCI E Clock [Auto] huh..........clueless DDR2 Voltage control [Auto] no clue wtf this does but all i know my value rams can;t handle it lol CPU Voltage [Auto] wat V shoild i increase it to? CPU Mutliplier [Auto] < the only option i can selct form this is 5x and above no 3x multiplier wat setting should i change??? o btw evrything is set at default now starting fresh CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ Board: ASUS M2N-E 570 Ultra Memory: 512*2mb corsair Video Card: EVGA 7900 GTO HDD: Seagate barracude 7200.9 SATA 160GB Sound Card: X-fi Soundblaster Xtreme Case: Ultra Grid Defender Power Supply: Antec Neo HE 550W Cooling: Scythe mine Last edited by PimpingBox; November 18th, 2006 at 21:07. |

| ok. From there. PCI-E keep it auto, or defaults for pci-e. Which i believe is 100mhz. Just don't change it. Keep ram voltage default. Change CPU voltage to 1.4volts. It is stock at 1.350v 1.4v should get you around 2400-2500mhz. It slightly depends on your cpu. As you increase the clocks, you have to increase voltage as well, but start off with 1.4v. KEEP IN MIND, 1.4v is for NORMAL 3800+X2. If you have the energy efficient ones or the SFF (small form factor) you will need to check up the stock voltages by yourself. Regardless, increase your voltage about .5 volts. CPU multi, you can keep it auto or change it to 10X. 10x is default. Look around for HTT frequency. I belive on ASUS boards, its called HTT frequency, and its an actaul number. Change it to 800mhz or even 600mhz. Finally, look around for a memory divider. Always keep your RAM at the rated speed. Especially since you only have value ram. | Tip: Turn your memory dividers to the lowest RAM speed the board allows. This will eliminate the RAM from bottlenecking your CPU's maximum OC.
