| Ok so some retailers finally started to sell the long awaited 45nm Quad Cores from intel. Only ones i've found reasonable are the Xeon branded ones, X3550 and X3320 which are Q9450 and Q9350 respectfully. Anyway, seems that these processors have a lower multiplier, doesn't look like it'll be as OC friendly as the 8400 is. But damn 12mb L2Cache is ridiculous. If neone cares here's the link for both processors: Intel CPU XEON QUAD CORE X3350 2.66GHZ (Intel BX80569X3350) : Lagoom.com Intel CPU XEON QUAD CORE X3320 2.50GHZ (Intel BX80580X3320) : Lagoom.com So who's gonna be the guinea pig and buy one? |

| I'm Evil | Also, as popular as using the server chips have been....they are not OCing as well, and have different voltage settings. I only bring this up because a lot of inexperienced folk are grabbing the Xeons and finding out there are some differences, and that they tend not to OC as well, and run a bit hotter. | ya but i offset the server with the vanilla stock route, you're prob better off with the xeon since they seem cheaper. |

| I'm Evil | they typically are cheaper (unless Newegg is price gouging), and are the same processors.....if you aren't planning on overclocking, they are a fine choice....but for people who are "enthusiasts" they are not on par with the old Opterons, which really started this whole server processor as a desktop processor fad.
