| Colonel Calamity | I tend to always suggest the Core2Duo even if a bit slower or lower on the benchmarks as a small over clock can get you faster and make up the difference. in this case I would suggest the E6320 over the 4300 ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

| HL's Technomancer | I would go with the Core 2, its only about 30 dollars more, has a far superior architecture, a faster FSB, doesn't have the Preslers notorious heat output and has excellent room for overclocking. Pair it with some decent memory and a good board for the best bang for buck on the Intel side. |

| Go ahead, try to get away | There is no contest here. Core 2 Duo E4300 totally destroys the PD 925. The key here is to get past clock speed. Even at 1.8 GHz, the Core 2 Duo's architecture make it faster than the PD 925. As an added bonus, it achieves that with a lot less heat output. As Stormcrow already pointed out, the E4300 has a fantastic rep for overclocking, so it's possible to get that chip and crank to even higher performance levels. If you're worried about gaming, have a decent amount of RAM and a good video card, that'll make an even bigger difference. | HL's Technomancer | You wont be disappointed, it's a great processor and I wish I would have waited for the price cuts and went with Intel this time, but the Athlon X2 does just fine for me. As said, get some decent memory, at least two gigs, a decent name brand mobo, and a newer generation video card and you'll be all set. |

| Show me a benchmark where the 925 steps ahead of the E4300 ;) Core 2 Duo does almost twice as much per clock cycle as the Pentium 4's and Pentium D processors. 2 GHz Core 2 Duo would come out to roughly the same performance as a 3.8 GHz Pentium D...
