| at this point, intel is slamming AMD because the core 2 duo chips are faster, cheaper, and cooler. what else is there to decide? ![]() |

| socket 939 junkie | right now intel is whomping on amd in the performance sector and the only way amd can compete is with lower prices. however when the intel price cuts happen, amd wont even have that advantage |

| Jazzy and Simple are right. Intel has the performance crown right now. We'll be seeing AMD's new offerings soon enough. ![]() I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220 |

| Modder-ator | I just want to add my thoughts to this subject and say that while Intel's Core 2 Duo chips do hold the performance crown, AMD's Athlon 64 X2 AM2 chips are not bad. Currently, the AMD chips go to much lower price points (like only $65 or so for a 65nm dual core at 1.9GHz). So if you are looking for a very cheap, good performing dual core chip, then AMD is going to be really hard to beat at the low end... |

| that's a good point to bring up, blake, 1.9ghz isn't pokey when you consider they (prolly) OC with the same intensity that their products are known for. |

| Silence..Or I kill you! | Another thing to keep in mind, AMD has a little something up there sleeve!!! Not exactly sure, and they are being pretty quiet about it, but look for something big to happen in the next 2 to 3 months! |

| I've found that the Intels are best for gaming and the AMDs are best for doing image and videorendering and editing. I have no idea why, as the Intels should be spanking the AMDs in that not just gaming. | For C2D's? It's usually the exact opposite with AMD being the better choice for gaming and Intel better for image, videorendering, etc. ![]() I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220 |
