| Well, today has been an interesting day for my CPU. I wanted to try to increase my overclock from 2.65ghz, and after messing with the system for over an hour, I think I made it. I started this morning by taking a 265HTT to a x10.5 instead of the x10 I usually use, which was going to give me a 2.72ghz OC. When I rebooted, nothing happened, and I couldn't even get back into BIOS. So after clearing CMOS, I tried upping the vcore a little bit (to 1.43 I think) and set the FSB back at 265 x10.5. Again, nothing happened and I had to clear CMOS again. I got some advice to the effect of raising the vcore to something close to 1.5v or 1.55v, and I set the HTT to 270 x10, the RAM to CPU/14 (150) to get my new OC of 2.7ghz, with the memory @192.3Mhz - which has been going all day through a few hours of gaming and even a couple hours of stress testing on Prime95. The CPU is on 1.45v and the vcore is on 1.53v. The CPU temps during the Prime run never went over 42°C. In fact, even idling, the CPU temp only went up a couple of degrees from what it is on stock speed. I think I might be able to get to 2.8ghz with the vcore set like it is, and I still don't seem to need to change the RAM timings either. If it's not fixed, then don't broke it! |

| socket 939 junkie | ok so heres what i got: CPU: FSB Frequency : 255mhz LDT/FSB Ratio : 3x LDT Transfere width : 16 down 16 up Pci Express Frequency : 100 K8 cool n' quiet : Disable CPU vid start up value : startup CPU vid control : 1.475v CPU vid special control : above vid 110% LDT voltage control : 1.30v Chipset Voltage control : 1.6v Memory DRam voltage Contol : 3.2v DRam frequency set : 166(5/06 divider) command per clock : Auto Cas latency control : 2 Ras# to cas# delay : 2 Min ras# active time : 8 row precharge time : 2 everything else below is how it was set at default now with 1.475 + 110% that will give 1.59v in the bios to the cpu so you may want to change that to your liking or what your chip can handle i know that the ram it totally different so your going to have to adjust it to your specific ram, i just posted mine just to give you an idea of what i did and didnt do with my memory Q6600 @ 3.6ghz (400x9 @ 1.408v) Gigabyte X38-DQ6 2x2GB G-Skill DDR2 1000 @ DDR2 1066 5-5-5-15 2T 2.1v Visiontek HD4870 Seagate 7200.11 500GB 32MB Cache HDD Razer Barracuda AC1 Silverstone DA750 Samsung Dual Layer DVD Burner Lian Li G70WB Thermochill PA120.3|Swiftech Storm Rev.2|Swiftech MCP 655 |

| I'm Evil | I think you guys are pushing a little too much voltage....just my opinion....but 24/7 I wouldn't go much past 1.5V. I also think the best O/C is the one you can get the best ratio from (What I mean is by all means O/C, but when you hit a wall and going any further requires a big boost in voltage....stop). INTEL QX9650 ASUS P5E3 Premium 4GB DDR3-1600 Sapphire HD 3870X2 Danger Den Tower-26 (Custom W/C) 5 x Seagate 250GB HDD in RAID5 BFG ES 800W PSU |
