| other than the 3MB cache it sounds great. Im sure it would boot right into 1333fsb with ease. Nice find |

| F Ucn rd dis U mst uzUNIX | I have the E4700 and the E7200 in a wish list, and can't really make a choice. Given it's for a SFF box, the nod probably needs given to the Wolfdale 7200. But in a full box, I can't imagine that big of a difference in actual usage. |

| Modder-ator | Yeah, those two are going to be very similar. I would probably go for the E7200, it's actually cheaper and will probably run a bit cooler and use a bit less power. |

| socket 939 junkie | i would take the E7200 personally. slightly cheaper now probably overclocks better too Q6600 @ 3.6ghz (400x9 @ 1.408v) Gigabyte X38-DQ6 2x2GB G-Skill DDR2 1000 @ DDR2 1066 5-5-5-15 2T 2.1v Visiontek HD4870 Seagate 7200.11 500GB 32MB Cache HDD Razer Barracuda AC1 Silverstone DA750 Samsung Dual Layer DVD Burner Lian Li G70WB Thermochill PA120.3|Swiftech Storm Rev.2|Swiftech MCP 655 |

| Colonel Calamity | wow the 6550 was all over the place but the 7200 pretty much held its place throughout all the testing... ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

| Do i scare u? | oOooo. This looks like a fun processor to play with! ![]() @Boynblack, I'd go for the E7200. It'll run cooler at a lower wattage, and it probably will clock higher... I'd be interested to get my hands on one of these chips...... ![]() |

| F Ucn rd dis U mst uzUNIX | Interesting read, and thanks screwballl! That settle the exact conflict I was having. The box I want it to go in has my 8400 that I want back for it's original home. It had a 4300, a 2160, 8200, Q6600, and back down to the 8400 that it holds now. I'm battling heat more than anything, and that's really my main deciding factor. SFF's are just tough nuts to crack, and even more so when they sit there folding while waiting to actually go to work on something. I'm convinced that it doesn't need shear horsepower as much as low voltage operation...but it helps if I can get both! I'll order one up in a bit and hope to see it by Friday afternoon so that I can tinker over the weekend. I'll see how low it can go at 266 and at 333. I'd really like go against the desktop ideal of pinning it to the ground by it's ears, but rather see it do a more modest 333 (3.1Ghz) and stay around 1.15v. It's more practical for a SFF and can utilize some really good DDR2-667 that's been laying around with no place to call home. If it's here by Friday though, I can stab it in the big boxes and see what it does for ya'll though. Newegg seems to be hit and miss down here, so I'll just cross my fingers. |
