Default AMD's End Of Line dates

Pretty sad really. Even several AM2 processors are already getting axed (the 1MB L2 cache flavors).

Interesting how s754 had a longer lifespan than s939 though!

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

I don't know, I'm pretty geeked - it's not a big loss on the 1MB L2 cache front, as the performance boost just wasn't there, but the price differences sure were. With Conroe poised to kick a**, AMD needs to lure enthusiasts on the pricing front, and they're also needing all the Fab space they can muster.

The Inq had a pretty decent read on the subject last week ----> LINK

I personally think the cache has so little effect on performance that no one will notice

Wow, I knew it was not too far but that close?! =/
I really don't like it, I just bought my OC-Z memory, I don't want to switch to DDR2 already
I'll try to grab an Opty 165 real soon so I can wait before buying ram again.

I set up the word filters to catch "teh"...so you find a completely new way to brutalize the English language.....

I personally think AMD is killing off the s939 because the AM@ isn't a huge improvement, and they don't want to create competition for themselves
