haha, yay for destroying CPUs.
This is what happens when you remove the HSF from a drastically OC'd processor apparently.

Good. I don't much like the idea that a processor could explode in it's socket.

well idk enough to support or deny wether it can i just found that, and thought it would be interesting to see what u guys thought of it.

Not the early Athlons Blake. I took the sink off a dead Athlon 1000 rig while it was running, really nasty burning smell after about 2 seconds then the ceramic package cracked and the molten die launched in the air and landed on my sweat shirt..melting a hole in it...

I was actually able to keep a P3 based celeron running without the heatsink by slowly dripping water of of a little dropper onto the die, the water was boiling on the die, but the the thermal override didn't kick in
