Document titled “AMD Athlon 64 Processor Power and Thermal Data Sheet” lists AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ processor for socket 939 and claims that it has 2600MHz core-clock and 2MB of cache (1MB per core) – exactly the same specifications as compared to AMD Athlon 64 FX-60. On the page 81 of the same document the chip is described as 2600MHz processor with 1MB of cache (512KB per core).

Exactly the same as the FX-60?!?!?! What the hell is AMD thinking?! :?
Either this source is messed up, or it will probably be a Manchester (512KB L2 cache per core for a total of 1MB L2 cache). I can't see AMD releasing an FX-60 equivalent so soon...

Don't you see it? They are releasing Dual core versions of most of the single core solutions. Intel does the exact same. Take the Pentium 4 670 for example, it has the exact same specs as its dual core brother, the Pentium D 840.

I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220

EDIT: they will also launch a X2 5200+ just google it.

EDIT 2:www.theinquirer.net/?article=29718 And for the people who hate TG daily. *glares at Joe* there is also the inquirer.
