Default AMD not the only one with problems

DailyTech - Intel Explains 45nm Delays, Errata

So Penryn is just as prone to problems as the Phenom is.... so much for that pedestal that people have put intel on

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Theres a pretty big difference you are ignoring.......Intel's been supplying pretty much all of the enthusiast parts over the past 18 months, and the C2D was a huge success......running into an issue with their new 45nm (Remember AMD is still at 65nm and having problems) processors isn't nearly as big a deal.....if anything it takes their boot off AMD's throat for a day or two.

Also, lets look at the fact they haven't released these processors yet, instead looking at the issue and pushing the release back a couple of weeks to a month to address the issue.....instead of releasing the processors with a known issue.

Then again, to hear [H]ard paint it, the erratum issue is really a non issue anyway, although there are other sites who will contest that point of view.

right... from much of the info I have seen, Phenom is just a stopgap until they release their 45nm line where they will try to get competitive again instead of just supplying mainstream parts and not high end parts.

Thats their excuse......Think back about 4-6 months.....all the hot air AMD was blowing, the media hype, and people calling Phenom the "Core 2 Killer"........now its a stopgap? Thats weak sauce on their part, and they should be embarrassed after all the talk.

yeah... PR and ego always have a bit too much play in this industry... I remember Intel still claiming their procs were the best during the Athlon/P4 days

The P4's were fine until they released the Prescott's, which were awful.
Until AMD released the s939, they were basically just a fan boi/budget option.....the s939 processors were a fantastic product.

And with that intel reported to be under estimates in the 4th quarter and 1st quarter means they helped to drag the economy down further. DOWN WITH INTEL!! j/k. Even the Success of the C2Duo can't make everything gravy. Im sure they'll figure out these processors sooner or later. Btw prescotts totally blow! Literally i had one blow up on me =D

(thanks blake!)

By a scant 2 cents/share, though Wall Street walloped 'em for it.
