| Hiya ppl hope everyones cool,, im new to this forum so be gentle,, my current pc setup is an msi 865pe neo2-p board with a 2.6ghz celeron chip and 1.7gig of ddr1 memory,,ive just bought a new motherboard of a friend,,an Asrock 4coredual-sata board and looking to buy a decent performing chip to work nicely with this board,,ive already looked at chips like the Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160 Socket 775 (1.8GHz) but wud this setup be good as i will only have my graphics card which at the mo is a 256meg 6600le. Im also on a budget of around 70pound for the chip, so if anyone has any good pointers as to chips then please help,,ive heard alot of god things about the new board and wud like to make it into a great little performer,,ive heard the e2200 and the e4500 are good chips. Thanks | ||||||||||||||

| first off, welcome to the forums! second, any of the intel E series processors would be a great upgrade over a 2.6ghz celeron. the E2160 isnt too expensive, and can achieve some pretty good overclock results. | many of these newer games would struggle to play on that 6600LE.... it is definitely suggested to upgrade the video card if you want to play Crysis or any newer games ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. | ||||||||||||||

| Crysis will play at 1FPS with a 6600LE lol. Really for Crysis, a minimum of either HD2600XT or 8600GT is needed. And still then things will be vERY sluggish. To play with a good frame rate and eye-candy, a high-end card is needed. | Yeah, a 7600gt could run the game with everything on low, but that was with an e6300 oc'd to 2.8ghz and 4 gigs of ram supporting it... and it was just playable. a 3850 and that that pentium should be able to play the game fairly well at lower resolutions and settings. e6300@3.33ghz|Asus P5k-e WiFi| 4gb OCZ ReaperX|2x 3870's|1.3tb storage space|MSI tv tuner. | ||||||||||||||
