There are a several 2GB vs 4GB article floating around the interweb right now which led me to wonder about the next level of memory capacity. Luckily I had two 4GB kits available to throw onto my trusty test bench and quickly ran thru some benchmarks to see if having 8GB of system memory made a difference.



The test bench consisted of :

CPU: Intel E8400
Mobo: ASUS Striker II Formula 780i...

You know (actually, you probably don't, yet), but I've been toying with the idea of blogging for some time now. I have several friends that do it (hatshrapnel.com especially, good for a laugh, although it might not all make sense).

I never seem to know what to say though. I mean, are there people out there that care that I just installed Fedora 9, only to find out that the version of X that is uses doesn't have good nvidia OR ati drivers out there? Maybe not.

One of the other HL members told me he had a Pentium D I could have, but I soon realized that the motherboard I was using wasn't compatible with the Pentium D. Well here we are,all sittin pretty,while there are some who are in dire need.I need to vent a wee bit,so I "figgered" i'd vent here....but a good,heart fealt vent,if you will.

Ah damnit I'm in a pissy mood. TV tuner works fine in my other computer, just not in the one I want to use it.

I've tried changing video card (Nvidia to ATI), didn't do it.
I tried removing my Creative X-Fi, didn't do it.
I tried changing PCIe 1x ports, didn't do it.
I tried XP 32bit instead of Vista 64bit, didn't do it.
I tried around 5 drivers for the TV tuner, didn't do it.

This is really becoming a hardware issue... The problem I experience...
