Step-up window closing...and money is tight...

Just an update I've had the GX2 for a week now and lovin it big time.
I took the standard shipping option which was the cheapest way ti go.
Two weeks not to bad actually I was impressed with the service once again. It comes with the same lifetime warranty. at stock speed I'm in the 16000 in 3DM06 and after OC to 726/1126/1800 low 18000 impressive for a single card solution. I started to fiddle around with my E8400 OC to improve my scores and fubarred myself cause I haven't been able to get back to the 18000's but consistent upper 17000's all of these in Vista x64, If interested I can post urls but this card rocks and I'm glad I made the move Thanks again for rattling my cage I got in just under the wire thanks to you!

BTW I'd be interested to see the 280 results once you get it,. I'll definitaly be getting one if not a GX2 by then when I make the move to i7, x58 and DDR3.

It seems as though if you had successfully bought that copy you would have been one of the very very first in the United States to play the full retail version. I can't find it anywhere to actually buy so I think it was an accident it was on the shelves in the first place.

Upon further research, it looks like all the copies walmart has are the ones that are being recalled... aparently the publisher that got hired forgot to print the CD Keys.... that made me feel better about not getting the game on monday.

And then I found out that it's like the first game where I don't need the key to play single player... and I was sad again. Oh well... 4 days til it comes out on steam!

Force them to sell you it. Who needs to ring it anyway? Just give them $40 + taxes and ask them to put it as something else. Hehe :P

Mumble - the little known VOIP client that can

I've used both heavily, and they both provide impeccable sound quality. I tend to like ventrilo a bit better, but they are both amazing voip apps.

Whoah. Now that takes guts to rip a card like that apart. Glad everything worked out though!

I did this before when i had my GX2. Silly Polo, l2maintain your cards!
j/k, i did the thermal and what not, was a bitch putting the thing back together. And i promptly burn out the card 2 weeks later along with all the other components in my system.
Oh well, gave me a chance to sell that new GX2 =D

That sounds dangerous Blake. Any idea what that resistor did? (or didn't do? :P)

I accidentally busted off a tiny SMD resistor like that on a motherboard (right next to the chipset) and it still worked without it!

had a very similar experience with a motherboard. one of the motherboard stand offs in the case came loose from the motherboard tray, so i took a leatherman, grasped the motherboard standoff, held the screwdriver in place on the screw and used the leatherman to loosen the standoff. i cant tell you how sick i was when i felt the leatherman dig into the back of the motherboard. i was even more distraught when i realized i could see exposed copper traces 0.o fortunately the board still worked!

Good save! A lot of people would have tried to RMA it instead.

Well, my EVGA GTX280 is on the way to me. I should get it next Thursday. Looks like I'll need to go out and cut some lawns this summer. Lots of new shit on the horizon and the normal family budget just can't hang with my need for new gear.

Man, the only thing that sucks about having kids is putting them through college. That daughter of mine is costing me a mint. So this little $150 upgrade is likely to be the last one I see in some time now.
