Default Re: What MP3/MP4 Player?

zrolimit, I was using MDs since the old OLD school MZ-R37 i got pictured here:

Thing still works too lol, old school MD that was more a Cassette tape recorder in an MD form. From there I went on to the MZ-R55 before gettin the 1st "MP3" MD, the MZ-N1 (Sony's anniversary MD). The whole draw of the MD for me was the LCD remote that you could see the text scrolling, never mind the fact you had to input the song title/artists one letter at a time with the twist nobs for the 1st gen MDs. i gave that to my cousin when I purchased my 1st Ipod (Ipod from HP that 6 month horror show that HP signed with apple). Since then i've gone Mini 1G, to Nano 1G, to now my Meizu here:

The main draw for me anyway with the Meizu is battery life, so much more superior than the Ipod. Also the fact that it has Unicode support means all my Chinese and Japanese musics won't show up ?????? and actually look right like this:

Oh and custom background is cool too =D at 100 bucks its a great buy for a 8gb video/music player. And it operates like the click wheel, sliding your finger along the controls on the right and depressing them for menu, play, forward, gotta love chinese companies stealing apple technology haha.

Heck i still have an MD player here that noone wants, MZ-N505 Type-R. I got like 6 MDs too and the original software and all that, but seriously noone wants this thing lol.

(thanks blake!)

Sigh, I never got an HiMD player... and my first one did get stolen, that was really depressing. My second one had the inline remote and radio though, that was nice... until the cord got cut. WHY!!!!!!

But yeah, they were nice... I miss them. Probably the coolest format sony put out since betamax....

yah i can see a real old school MD from you azianai. awesome! like your current media player alot. looks very capable.

theburan all i can say is MD isnt dead just yet. theres alot of people that use them especially people in the music industry. its just the support now thats lacking as warranties are running out or have run out and spare parts are hard to find. one thing i will say to you is i have a great 8 series sony net MD that comes with a charger and cradle and a 5 pack of 80 minute MDs but lacks a battery. if i can get a replacement battery through sony and if you really want one that bad, maybe i could ship it out to you and you could perhaps send me some american calvin and hobbes books to the value of the postage or something. im sure i could figure something out with you. anyways let me know as id love to put a smile on your face.

While my actual minidisc player isn't 100% (i'm pretty sure a lead to the headphone jack is loose or something), I know my dad had a working one, and my mom was using it for a while... but she has an ipod now, so I've already got 2 players still, even though the sound is kinda iffy on one. I'm gonna have to go find that one here, actually... hmmmm....
