He's right, without a lot more server bandwidth and the individual user having more bandwidth, you just cannot make a webpage like that and expect it to be fast.

I'll stick with my original recommendations. Fewer images, period.

I have 3600GB of Bandwidth per month with Servage.net hosting.

And @Telexen - I completely understand your point, trust me I do, but there simply isn't enough time. Not only have I been working on this for over a month and don't have time to do it, but the client needs his website up and running for bookings coming this holiday season - he needs a website ASAP - and I'm thinking to myself "so why not live with something as simply as slices loading how you don't like it". I understand waiting "too long", but if there is nothing else that can be done (for the time being), then a compromise has to be met.

Is that a lot for a server? I don't know much about servers and stuff, so bare with me...

If he needs it ASAP then he has to live with what you've done. It can be re-done in a fair amount of time, but he'll have to live with it until then.

Yea, just like you said it can be done in a "fair" amount of time...unfortunately with my schedule how it is now, that fair amount of time will be more like double or triple the regular fair amount of time. Also, it's not the overwhelmingly easiest and least annoying job.

Quoted for truth. There's a reason I don't do it anymore

Oh so wise...

Well...if I were to start again...what would I do differently?

Simply make a background image as a "template", and then overlay text in a table? THAT'S very annoying, extremely tedious, and...did I mention annoying?

Dude, I don't mean to sound harsh, but seriously! You are complaining about spending too much time working on this site, but here you are four days later trying to solve the same problem you started with (that problem being too many images). If you had spent that time creating a table or two with some text instead of a million little images then the loading times will drop dramatically. I totally agree with Telexen, more text and fewer images. That's all I'm gonna say about that...

Frankly, tell the client to stop complaining.
The webpage is well "in the specs".
Have you checked how the website loads on his computer though? I used to use servage but in the last year the service has been REALLY slow on a lot of computers from what I could gather, I just think their servers are overloaded sometimes.

Either way, collect money. Those clients are only trouble, trust me. ;) I got a few like that, the only thing they do is complain and they never want to pay. You have sometimes to shake them a bit and ask for your money. =P

Edit: Oh and the edge of swing page looks sorta weird with the player in the top left.
