Website design takes a lot of time and work, just as Capper!
So don't expect to just make a bunch of images and links and call it good. You have to think about the user and make it friendly, intuitive, informative, fast, and interesting/aesthetically pleasing. You've obviously got a good grasp on how to make things look good, but just spend the extra time and go the full 110% to make the whole website quality; looks aren't everything.

Of course not, but that's what I'm trying to get at by fixing this annoying loading method. But I've already spent too much time on everything in it, and I don't have any time left to spend on it every single week of my schedule is jammed enough without school thrown in...

As long as this loading problem gets fixed, it's all good. Other than that I'm not sure the website needs any other "quality" altering...unless...? Any suggestions?

Alright...well I tried saving it interlaced, and the same thing happens. I also tried saving it in BMP, JPG, PNG formats, same thing.

I'm so confused.

Part of the problem is that the client doesn't wanna refer any of his customers to the site until this loading problem is fixed, and I have work tomorrow, saturday, and sunday, not including homework - I have no time left on this thing.

I FINALLY got a backup rig up and running in my room (my P5B Deluxe fried on me), so I'm "back in business" for the time being...and I need to get this done.

In the back of my mind I think that there has to be a way to get around this...I just don't know what it is...

You may just need to take one of the other advised alternatives and redesign the website with a single background and some strategically placed text and links in a table over top...

I swear I wish I had the time to do that...it's just impossible...

What I have been looking into, however, is pre-loading.

Basically, pre-loading an entire page, THEN displaying it when the page is loaded - just bang. I know there is a way to do this with Java (a kinda long way, but still better than redoing it) - the only problem with that is that not every browser supports JS, and some people disable their JS. Another thing, I'm not 100% sure it works within tables in HTML.

Anyone know anything about pre-loading full pages?

TIA guys, I appreciate everything - you know that.

I don't know of any way to preload a site unless it's a flash website :-/ Maybe someone will have a solution to your problem.

Thanks insomnia, I appreciate it.

It's been a rough couple of weeks since school started and a little before. Too many things have been going on and nothing has really been going well. On top of everything else this website has been on my shoulders for the past 3 weeks - 1) finishing it, and for the past week 2) trying to figure out this loading thing. Tomorrow I have work a mere hour after work finishes (I have 20 mins to get home, shower, change, and leave as it's a 40-minute bus ride), then Sat/Sun I have two full days of work as well, not including homework.

In general, and to put it simply; I just do too much. But, it's what I have to live with. Whatever help I can get from here is always greatly appreciated, and usually very good help, which is what HL is known for (at least to me). And I always try to provide the best possible help I can. You may have noticed a little reduced presence from me lately and that's because of what I just explained. I'm sure things will turn up soon, but a lot of it has to do with the fact that most of the things that are going on aren't really positive or good things...but what can you do I guess...

Anyway, that's my little rant/explanation-ish type thing...

Thanks guys.

Check out the site again - Welcome To Edge Music - very short, simple, easy javascript snippet in the head and body parts of the page to make it preload.

The only thing (that actually isn't too too big of an issue) is the tiny part of the upper piano staying there before the rest loads...

Jeez...I'm getting some more complaints...

Now, the pre-loading takes too long. They shouldn't have to wait for so long for each page to come up.

So, they don't like the original way of loading (since the site is made of slices anyway), and now (the solution to their original problem), they don't like either.

...Help?

Basically they're saying every other site they go to the page is up instantly without a) waiting, and b) annoying loading styles. What should I do? They DO make a point in their observations of most other websites.

Thanks guys, appreciate all the help as you know!
