The only way the death of Saddam will polarize the world into action is if it's not the last of its kind. There are other dictators that need to be removed by powers other than the U.S. And then those dictators need to be tried and the sentence carried out by their people.

If Saddam is the only dictator in this decade to be hung by the neck, then it was all for nothing.

See the problem will be the public display of it. That will just incite the etremists into being more and more violant. What should have been done was for him to be shot on sight when they found him hiding in that hole in the ground. It would have saved money and in the end saved lives.

I realize there is no fix for the violence in the middle east, but since we are there we need to me smart about our actions. Hanging Sadam in public will do nothing good for anyone except our enemies.

We missed our chance to quietly end his life. So now we have to take the next best thing.

Saddam needs to be executed in the public, so the Iraqis know that he is dead. There are still some Iraqis who think Saddam may become the President(Dictator) of Iraq again, like after the 92' war Saddam killed people who rose up against him. He ruled that country with an Iron fist. Those who objected, or spoke out and got beaten down(if not killed). Public execution of Saddam will show the people of Iraq that he is gone and never coming back, and they can move on. Violence will escalate for maybe a month or two in retaliation, but will subside to normal levels. No use fighting for someone who was just hung by the neck.

20% of Iraq is Sunni(backers of Saddam). Everyone that attacks Iraqis or American forces will be killed until there are none left who want to attack.

In Iraq, when Saddam ruled, those sentenced to death, were executed before sundown. Now Saddam has at least a month of appeals.

The protest, were made up of about 2,000 Sunnis from Tikrit(Saddam's birth place), while practically the rest of the country rejoiced.
