I expect it to be available for download from youtube or some such service within minutes of it being broadcast on Iraqi TV. And it will be broadcast.

I have to admit, the coward paid a price that was less than he deserved. Only history will tell the tale of if it was a good thing or not.

No offense, but I dislike it when people celebrate the death of another human, even if it is Saddam. Really makes what separates us from animals that much more definitive. It's one thing for someone to get what they 'deserve', such as being executed; I'm all for the eye-for-an-eye business. But it is a different matter entirely when we celebrate that execution in lieu of just moving on with life.

Iraq didn't mess around with carrying his sentence out. If this was in the U.S. he would have died from old age long before he was ever executed.

I have mixed feeling about his execution. At this point I think it will have a more negative impact then a positive one. I do think get got what he deserved, I just don't think now was the right time to do it.

Well, tell that to the hundreds of thousands of people he tortured and brutally murdered, and their families. when people make light of a death like Steve Irwin, I'm bothered, but when it comes to someone like Saddam, its a far different story

I for one had to toast to celebrate his death.

I normally agree with Garetjax's sentiment. A human life being extinguished - while nothing out of the ordinary - is somehow a tragic thing.

Where I digress with Garetjax is in the definition of human. By my admittedly loose sense of morals/ethics/standards, Saddam did not make the minimum qualifications I set for a human being. Nor can I classify him as a wild animal. Wild animals only do what they have to do to survive. Again, Saddam fails.

So, what was he?

I dunno, but the world is now just a tiny bit cleaner with him gone.

I agree, I am glad to see this asshat sent off to hell with the rest of the demons.
