Yeah...I'm a Mustang Nu-B! This is the first one I've ever owned, but I love it (especially when not all scratched up).

My wife wanted me to mention (I forgot) that she also knows some people who live in Aberdeen, and we need to get over there as well. If we ever do finally make it over there again, I'll let you know. I'd love to try a pint of good Scots beer! And Capper is right - not everyone over here in the states is a useless punk - there are some of us that are actually pretty cool.

I'm not sure what we'll do once Joe leaves Europe....we might have to close down our European Offices

...and did I mention that the kids who did it have been caught? They've actually been vandalizing other properties in the area for a while now, but one of our security guys has a son who knows who these kids are and can ID them in yearbook pics. They were picked up a couple of days ago for other acts of vandalism, but police would need one of the witnesses (in this case, a 14 year old kid) to ID them to tie them to my car, which so far, they haven't been.

...and the drama unfolds...

Yeah last winter some kids were doing donuts in the snow on the street by our house in Pueblo Co. They lost control of the car and slid across our yard and slammed into one of the bedroom walls of the house pushing the wall in about a foot. The renters at the time had their baby sleeping in the room, and the wall came within inches of hitting the crib. Even though one of the neighbors wrote down the license plate number of the vehicle the Police never charged anyone. So we had to pay the insurance detectable to get the house fixed. It really pisses me off to see kids cause damage and not have to pay for what they have done.

That just defies all logic, doesn't it? It's good that no one in the house was hurt...and getting that close to an infant with a moving wall and out of control car is just all kinds of wrong.

I wonder what it says about a society when you can't punish people for things like this? As far as I'm concerned, I think my insurance company should be able to go after the parents of these kids, and the kids themselves should have to make some kind of restitution - but then I'm thinking of a perfect world, aren't I?

I'm on your side folks - we spent 19 days in Florida several years ago and have no complaints about you guys. We were welcomed like long lost sons and the Scots accent was like a free pass to people's hearts.

Free orange juice in garages, no dog poop, sensible traffic light rules, no roundabouts, overtake both sides on highways - just a few lasting happy memories of our stay. Oh yes, and no rain! (obviously)

See previous post re: thoughts on good ol' USofA.

My own top car is the Mitsubishi Evo VI. (you'll have sussed the username now) We owned one for 8 months just after my early retirement came through but the running costs make it a rich man's toy. I run a BMW 328i these days, nearly as fast as the Evo but far more affordable.

Oops, silly me - forgot the one really bad thing about your country, those ridiculous speed limits. Why do you build massive highways, big muscle cars and then restrict everyone to a paltry 60mph? Alright, I know we have 70mph limit here but there are loads of places where the 167mph of the Evo was possible without being pestered by plod (peace officers to you). The Beemer has an annoying 155mph limiter but we're doing something about that!

The worst one of all is the 12 lane traffic circle around the Arc de Triomphe in Paris France. I had to drive through that crazy traffic circle about a month ago in a rental van. I didn't think I was going to make it, cars come at you from all directions.

Yeah it is Ironic that the US has nice well maintained straight Freeways low gas prices (compared to the rest of the world) and a speed limit. While in Germany their autobahns aren’t in as good of shape, narrow, and curvy, high gas prices with no speed limit in some places. The speed limit in most states now is 75mph, but some are still 70mph or 65mph.

I hardly ever drive over 100mph (160kmph) Only once have I gotten over 140mph (225 kmph), but that was in a rented BMW M series.
