The foundation the colonists laid down 200 years ago is inspiring and well-built, it's the stories being constructed on it every generation that grow more ugly and deformed. We are a giving country

Only when those giving can benefit many times over from the expense of "charity". The aid to foreign third world shitholes that does not a damn bit of good for the estranged citizens there is only meant to suppress the volatile governments and keep them dependent on America itself. Much like Soviet Russia absorbing nations under the banner of it's fascism disguised as communism, those in charge sneak their tentacles throughout worldly affairs, claiming peace while selling the weapons that cause the uprisings, donating the food that keeps the farmers from actually working...keeping the global situation unstable so it can be exploited and maintained. It's an excellent form of globalization, when you want to take power but know you'll get beaten to a pulp in the process. Much like giving large tips to the pizza delivery guy, which changes his spending behavior and in turn makes him come to rely on those tips and will do most anything for you in 'return kindness'. I like to call it Global Grooming, but it's starting to have some major backfires like we're seeing now.

This I agree with, everyday I meet more people who are willing to do a little extra for a stranger just because you gave them a smile. The country is full of good people, and every country has it's bigots, assclowns, retards, and criminals. I come across far more people just trying to survive and willing to help others do the same then the stereotypes people always slap a label on this country's citizens. And lets not forget how nice it is to call Americans greedy imperialist assholes, when in fact it's actually the tiny portion of the ruling class that damns the whole lot. But we're guilty of this as well, I see threads pop up on this forum about how we should just nuke the middle east and purge the backwards hateful Muslim menace, when like us it's only a small percent that's giving the entire area a bad rap...more average Joes just trying to survive are being killed in the crossfire then troops or actual terrorists.

America has also sent out more Christian ministry worldwide than any country on earth.

Sorry man, this is never a good thing. I'm a firm believer in live and let live, believe whatever you want as long as it doesn't harm another person...but I'm really tired of hearing how my happy hedonistic views are going to send me to some bad place unless I repent for sins I'm not guilty of and loyally follow the guidelines of what can be considered an epically long work of fiction. No offense, but I'm sure all the people in Africa, Middle-East, South America, and random Pacific Islands that hold on to their traditional beliefs are really sick of it too and it only serves to start a local shitstorm with whatever religious militants are in the area.
Especially the Jehovah's and Mormons around here, damn those guys are tenacious and just don't stop.

tl;dr: My opinions, don't hate for thinking I'm implying these as fact.

I have to agree with your last point. I'm not in the US, so I do not know everything that goes in there, but the TV does look terrible. It's depicting the American as a violent moron, and while some might be, I highly doubt the violent moron stereotype fits US citizens. I doubt the violent moron is also limited to USA too, we all know one (or a few :S) like this.

Hehe ... yeah ... problem is ... real Christian ministry is simply love and good news. Likely less than 5% of the missionaries ... after they get away from the political religious corruption and really and truly love the people they came to help ... do they really become incredible assets to those people ...

I was going to put in the original post ... "non-religious" Christian ministry ... but realized almost no one would understand that ... unless they are a "non-religious Christian."

• For the non-believer ... that likely will make your head spin and simply not be understandable nor digestible and perhaps cause strong verbal gassiness. No big.
• For the religious believer ... well it will likely just piss you off ... showing what is really in your heart.

Right, it is the american political and corporate shitheads that have turned the Christian related charities and such into another way to become rich. This is what it is all about. Once they are outside of much of the contact and corruption within the business aspect of it, they become who they really are, loving, caring helping people that are actually making a difference. Even an every day person with a simple high school education that is teaching a group of people in any poor and uneducated area can help them more than any charity or money-grab program that these "feel good" programs do.
For many of them, the legal definition of a charity is one that donates minimum 5% of the money it receives to "areas" in need. This means 75-95% of the money received by these charities go into the pockets of those running it and the money that does make it to the "areas" is likely just squandered by the warlords and criminals to further their corrupt powers over weak, helpless, and hungry people.
Look at the Microsoft Foundation, not only is Billy boy making trillions daily from MS, now he is also making more under the guise of a "charity". He could donate $1Million daily to those in need such as a church soup program or homeless shelters or somewhere that needs it and be able to allow these programs to really end homelessness and hunger and everything right here in our own country. Rather than donate it to other charity type programs that use 90% of it for "administrative pay", donate directly to the soup kitchens and homeless shelters and such. Bypass the government and "programs" designed to help these people in need, the only ones it is helping is the pockets of those administrators.
